Pine City Golfer Advances To State Tournament

Pine City high school senior, Tatum Ritter has qualified for the state golf tournament. She is the first Pine City golfer to advance to state in 15 years.

The two day section 7AA tournament was held at the Quarry at Giant’s Ridge in Biwabak on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ritter carded a solid 86 the first day, putting her in good position. Although she struggled on her first nine Wednesday, she rallied with two birdies on the back to finish with a 98. She finished 3rd of 5 individual state qualifiers with a two-day total of 184.

The advancing team was Hermantown with a two day total of 737. They were led by senior Olivia Tusa who shot an impressive 78/81.

The state tournament will be held June 12th and 13th at the Ridges of Sand Creed in Jordan.
