A bad accident happened in Wisconsin this morning on I-94 when a toddler and a child were thrown from a vehicle in a rollover.

State Patrol says it happened around 6:45 a.m. on I-94 westbound near the Foster in Eau Claire exit. Troopers say a vehicle driving westbound lost control and hit a barrier on the median side of the highway, then went across both lanes of traffic and up an embankment where it proceeded to roll over. The vehicle came to rest in a drainage ditch east of the off-ramp.

The 27-year-old driver from Maplewood, MN was trapped and extricated from the vehicle. She was taken by air ambulance to an Eau Claire hospital. A 20-month-old in the vehicle, who authorities say was not properly restrained, was thrown from the vehicle and taken by air ambulance to Rochester with injuries. A 9-year-old who authorities also say was not restrained in the vehicle was also thrown from it. He was also taken to an Eau Claire hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
