Weekend Storms Caused Damage In Dunn County

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 at 7:43 am

We had more powerful weather over the weekend in our Wisconsin listening area, particularly in Dunn County on Saturday night. While Burnett County Sheriff Dean Roland reported the sirens did sound three times in Burnett county Saturday, clearly Dunn County was harder hit. Saturday night’s storms toppled trees and caused damage in Dunn County. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Strong winds knocked over several trees onto roadways, and crews spent several hours clearing roads near Rock Creek. A garage was completely ripped from its foundation. Debris was scattered throughout the area.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Department says a trailer house was also destroyed, and the Red Cedar bike trail is closed because of trees down. Power outages were also reported, and even knocked SAM1057 off of the air for a while on Saturday evening.
