Vikings Stadium Vote To Happen Monday
Monday is a big day in St. Paul. After all of the legislative arguing, a vote on the Minnesota Vikings stadium is set to take place. It seems like members of both parties in both houses are quite divided on the issue. Many even going as far as to say they want the proposal to pass, but they won’t be voting for it themselves due to apparent political games being played.
Gov. Mark Dayton has long said that he sees the stadium as a job creator, and wants the Vikings to stay due to both the heritage in Minnesota and the tax revenue raised through the team, it’s players and it’s fans. Republicans have received a lot of bad press of late for various efforts to stop or stall the process. Some even accusing the republicans of holding the stadium bill hostage for tax cuts, which democrats say would only further exacerbate the problem.
Either way, it does appear like a vote will take place immanently; we’ll keep you posted.
