Fatal Crash Killed Barron Man Late Last Week

Late last week the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported a multiple vehicle crash happened that killed a man from Barron. It happened on Thursday on Hwy. 63 near 25th Avenue in the Village of Clear Lake.

A 1998 Ford Windstar van that was being driven Terry L. Barber, 59, of Barron was northbound on Hwy. 63 when his vehicle crossed into the southbound traffic lane and struck a motor home. Barber was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Motor Home was owned and operated by Robert I. Jessen, 80, of Bemidji, MN. Jessen was trapped in his vehicle and extricated by the Clear lake Fire Department and transported to Amery Regional Medical Center. Jessen’s wife 79-year old Edith A. Jessen, was also transported to Amery Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

A passenger in the Barber vehicle, Sarah J. Barber, 29, of Barron was transported to Amery Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Polk County Medical Examiner’s Office is also assisting with the continued investigation.
