Packers DE Hargrove Suspended For Half Of The Season In Saints Bounty Scandal

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 at 6:58 am

Packers DL Anthony Hargrove has been suspended eight games for his role in the Saints’ bounty scandal.

Hargrove also laid the infamous brutal hit on Brett Favre in the NFC Championship game. He had signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with Green Bay in late March.

Hargrove’s suspension was more harsh than those of Saints DE Will Smith (4 games) and LB Scott Fujita, now with Cleveland (3 games) because the NFL determined that he “actively obstructed” the league’s investigation by being untruthful to officials. Saints LB Jonathan Vilma will appeal a season long suspension also handed down on Wednesday.
