Man Arrested In Pine County, Charged With Hiring Someone To Kidnap Ex-Girlfriend
Last Friday, April 27, agents of the East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force, with assistance for the Minnesota BCA, arrested a 45-year old Hinckley man named Jesse Michael Ericson for probable cause Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping. The defendant was booked into and is currently being held in the Pine County Jail.
According to a press release from the Pine County Sheriff’s office, the arrest stems from information received by the Task Force through informants that the Defendant was allegedly seeking someone to murder an ex-girlfriend. Task Force Agents arranged a meeting between the Defendant, and an Undercover Police Officer posing as a hired assassin.
Meetings took place in the City of Hinckley over the course of several days; it was during these meetings that the Defendant is alleged to have discussed and ultimately contracted to have his ex-girlfriend kidnapped, kept alive, and held as a sex slave. The alleged contracted price for this crime $150,000.00. These meeting were audio and video recorded.
Yesterday, Ericson appeared in Pine County District Court and was formally charged with three counts of Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping. These charges carry a maximum penalty of 30 years. Bail was set at one million dollars without conditions and $500,000.00 with conditions.
The Defendant is also charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct and Violating Orders for Protection in separate incidents occurring in Pine County. He is also facing charges in Isanti and Becker Counties for other criminal incidents.
The East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force Task Force is a formal organization formed and governed by a Joint Powers Agreement between Chisago, Isanti, and Pine Counties.
