On Tuesday night, the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars softball team improved to 9-3 on the season with an 8-2 victory over the Pine City Dragons in Hinckley.

The Jaguars got a strong outing from senior pitcher Shay Bengtson who went seven innings only allowing two runs on five hits while striking out seven dragons and walking six in the win.

Bengtson, who will play college softball next year at Anoka-Ramsey, visited with our Nick Sontag after the win.

The Jaguars offense gave Bengtson plenty of offensive support scoring one run in the first, three in the second, two in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth inning. The Jags are now 2-0 against the Dragons this season after going 3-0 against Pine City in 2011.

The Jags will be back in action on Thursday when they take on the Braham bombers in Braham.
