Rush City Man Arrested After Car Crashes Through DQ in North Branch

On Monday in North Branch, a vehicle backed into the Dairy Queen leaving a massive hole. Thankfully, there were no patrons or workers injured in the incident, but the North Branch Police Department says in a press release that the car went about 10 feet into the dining area, and then left the scene.

The vehicle was stopped by a North Branch officer about 1.5 miles away and the driver was subsequently arrested without incident. The driver has been identified as 47-year old Steve Holmgren of Rush City. Holmgren was booked at the Chisago County Jail for third degree DWI, Felony Criminal Damage to property and leaving the scene of an accident.
