In the first round of the NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers made a pick to try and improve their defense.

The Packers selected USC’s Nick Perry with the 28th overall pick Thursday night. Perry had 21.5 sacks in three seasons with the Trojans. Perry will likely be an outside linebacker in the Packer’s 3-4 defense.

Green Bay gave up an NFL-worst 411.6 yards per game last season. They also only had 29 sacks as a team last season.

The Packers have 11 picks remaining in the NFL draft.
