The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman we first reported on Tuesday. The Sheriff’s office believes the woman was turkey hunting.

On Monday, a 53-year-old Somerset woman was found dead from a gunshot wound in a field. An autopsy determined the gunshot to be self-inflicted. Deputies told WQOW the woman was dressed for turkey hunting and they are trying to determine if the death was an accident or intentional.

The woman, whose name isn’t being released, was discovered by her husband who reported her death to authorities.
