Bad News On Wisconsin Jobs Front
There’s more bad news on the jobs front here in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin lost 43-hundred private sector jobs in March, according to numbers released Thursday by the Department of Workforce Development.
At the same time, the state’s unemployment rate dropped slightly, to 6.8 percent.
Despite the one-month drop, Wisconsin has added more than 15,000 private sector jobs this year.
Wisconsin has now gained just 5,900 jobs since Governor Scott Walker took office, far off the 250,000 he promised during his first-term. A UW economist says the upcoming recall elections are a possible reason.
Wisconsin was only one of two states in the entire nation that shed jobs for the month.
