Pine City Superintendent Fischer Leaving

Thursday, April 19th, 2012 at 8:54 am

We reported recently that Pine City School Superintendent Dennis Fischer had applied for a similar position in Mandan, North Dakota. While Fischer didn’t get that position, it does appear that he’s been hired out-of-state to serve as the superintendent of a Wyoming school district.

The Platte County School District #1 Board of Trustees is has announced in local newspapers that Mr. Dennis Fischer of Pine City, Minn. has been chosen to succeed Superintendent Stuart Nelson as Superintendent of Platte County School District #1.

The Platte County Record-Times reports that Fischer was “selected after a thorough three-month vetting process that started with 26 applicants from all over the United States. The applicants were narrowed to the top three and all of those candidates traveled to Platte County for an intensive day of interviews with the school district board of trustees, staff administrators and community members.”

The paper reports that Fischer will assume his new duties on July 1, 2012. Fisher’s resume will be posted on the Platte County School District #1 website at www.platte.schoolfusion.us.
