A Pine City man and woman were sentenced recently in connection with the burglary of the man’s stepmother’s apartment.

The Oakdale Patch reports that William E. Duffy, 43, was convicted of second-degree burglary and Heather F. Miller, 42, was convicted of second-degree aiding and abetting burglary in Washington County District Court. The paper cites a news release from the Washington County Attorney’s Office.

The criminal complaint alleged that Duffy broke into the apartment—located in the 4100 block of Geneva Avenue—in May of last year while his stepmother was away caring for his father.

Miller was accused of sitting in the car in the parking lot and putting bags of items into the car, according to the complaint.

Duffy was sentenced to 120 days in jail with credit for eight days served for actually breaking into the apartment, according Patch’s story. He also received a stayed sentence of 23 months in prison, and five years probation. Miller received a stayed sentence of 90 days in jail and five years probation.
