St. Cloud Man Sentenced To 22 Years In Prison For Shooting At Police Officers

A St. Cloud man has been sentenced to more than 22 years in prison for shooting at police officers during an August 14, 2010 incident.

27-year old Frank James Bammert of St. Cloud was convicted with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police responded to a St. Cloud apartment complex on August 14, 2010, after witnesses said Bammert was firing gun shots outside his window.

When officers arrived on the scene, Bammert fired shots in the direction of the officers. Bammert was shot by a Waite Park Police officer during the standoff and suffered a brain injury after being shot twice in the head.
