Missing Cloquet Boy Found Unharmed, Father Arrested
A 7-year old autistic boy who officials believed had been abducted by his father several weeks ago near Cloquet has been found. The St. Louis Sheriff’s Office reports that Wyatt Nordrum was found on Saturday night, in a rural cabin with his father.
Authorities say Nordrum was located in a rural cabin on the Fond du lac Indian Reservation around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The St. Louis County Sheriff said the father, James Leon Nordrum, is currently being treated at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth for self inflicted neck injuries. He is currently in fair condition.
Apparently the father tried to run from deputies and was tackled. At that time, authorities noticed the deep cuts on the fathers neck. Authorities say James Nordrum faces a possible charge of kidnapping and depravation of parental rights.
Wyatt has been reunited with his mother, and was thankfully unharmed. Officials report that the boy was talkative and in good spirits when he was picked up from the cabin.
Apparently officials were led to the area when Wyatt used his cell phone to send a text message to other family members and that text message was traced. The story made national headlines when a family member of Wyatt’s mother appeared on the Nancy Grace show.
