The Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team will try to take their next step towards a championship tonight as they are set to skate against top ranked Boston College in the Frozen Four.

After three straight absences from the NCAA Tourney, the Gophers are elated to be in this position, and have been playing some of their best hockey of late. The team rallied after what appeared to be a devastating loss to North Dakota in the WCHA Final Five semifinals and only one week later they stomped Boston University and North Dakota in the NCAA West Regional.

The possibility of a Gopher’s Men’s Hockey Championship has alarmed law enforcement.

Police at the University of Minnesota are preparing to handle riots if the Minnesota Golden Gopher’s Hockey team wins the NCAA Championship this weekend.

in 2003 Fans and students looted and smashed windows, with lit fires in the street after the team brought back a 2nd championship title.

The police are making this announcement of their own preparedness to warn would-be hoodlums ahead of time, lets all hope the Gophs win the National Title and the celebration is a civil one.
