Burglary Supsect Tries To Flee Police By Jumping Into Lake Superior

A burglary suspect was arrested after jumping into Lake Superior on Friday.

According to the Duluth police department, the incident began at 10:30 Friday morning when a woman called to report a burglary. The woman told police she noticed her bathroom window was broken and a man came out of an upstairs bedroom. The man fled out the front door with stolen items, pushing the woman against the wall.

Later on officers received a tip from a witness who saw a person matching the suspect’s description.  The suspect fled from an officer, ran down the city’s Lakewalk and jumped into Lake Superior before being arrested.

WDIO-TV reported that the 36-year-old man faces a possible charge of first-degree burglary.
