A Wisconsin man was arrested Friday afternoon for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, at about 3:40pm a bus driver with the Bruce School District had a bus stopped and was preparing to let children off when the driver saw a vehicle passing the bus. The vehicle passing the bus hit a mailbox.

Authorities pursued the vehicle, being driven by 58-year-old Michael R. Malone from Altoona, Wisconsin. They learned that Malone was also involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Authorities finally tracked down Malone, who was passed out. He was arrested for his 11th OWI offense.

The incidents are still under investigation by the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
