Bombers To Face Perham Today For 3rd Place In Class 2A State Tournament (Audio Replay)

The Braham Bombers quest for a State Championship came to an end with their loss to Plainview-Elgin-Millville last night, but they still can finish off the season on a high note with a win today over Perham. The Braham Bombers will square off against the Perham Yellowjackets today at noon at Concordia University.

The Perham Yellowjackets have a 28-3 record on the season. They made it to the State Tournament with section playoff wins against Frazee, Hawley, Pelican Rapids, and Bagley. In the State Tournament they defeated Worthington 51-47 in the opening round. In the semi-finals, they were defeated 33-31 by Litchfield. The loss ended the Yellowjackets chances of repeating as the Class 2A State Champion.

The 30-2 Braham Bombers are ranked number one in class 2A. Friday’s loss is only their second loss of the season, snapping a winning streak of 30 straight wins. They punched their ticket to the State Tournament with section wins over Rush City, Moose Lake/Willow River, Virginia, and Esko. In their first game of the State Tournament they defeated St. Croix Lutheran 81-78. The Bombers were defeated in the semi-finals, 84-67, by Plainview-Elgin-Millville.

The 3rd place game in the Class 2A State Tournament between the Perham Yellowjackets and the Braham Bombers started at noon at Concordia University. The game was heard live on 100.9FM, WCMP.
