Braham Falls To Plainview-Elgin-Millville 84-67 (Audio Replay)

Tonight the Braham Bombers’ quest for another State Championship came to an end when Plainview-Elgin-Millville defeated the Bombers 84-67 in the semi-finals of the Class AA State Basketball Tournament. Braham will play again on Saturday though. They will play in the third place game at noon against Perham.

The Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs are now 26-6 this season. They are currently on a twelve game winning streak. In the Bulldogs first State Tournament game they knocked out the number two ranked team in class 2A St. Peter 69-65. Tonight’s game was a rematch of the third place game in the 2009-2010 State Tournament, where the Bulldogs defeated Braham 83-51.

The 30-2 Braham Bombers are ranked number one in class 2A. This is only their second loss of the season, snapping a winning streak of 30 straight wins. They punched their ticket to the State Tournament with section wins over Rush City, Moose Lake/Willow River, Virginia, and Esko. In their first game of the State Tournament they defeated St. Croix Lutheran 81-78. The Bombers will now take on Perham at noon on Saturday for third place in the tourney.
