Wisconsin’s Deer Czar Plans Meetings Around State
Wisconsin’s deer czar is planning a series of town hall meetings around the state next month to gather comments from hunters and other outdoor lovers about deer management.
The Associated Press reports that Stephen F. Austin State University deer researcher James C. Kroll, who was hired by the DNR back in October to review the Department of Natural Resources’ strategies, will host the meetings. He’s due to present a preliminary report by the end of the month and his final conclusions by June 30.
Kroll plans to hold meetings in conjunction with the Wisconsin Conservation Congress in Appleton, Rhinelander, Hayward, Black River Falls, Mount Horeb and Milwaukee during the third week in April. Input he collects will go into his final report.
