Sawyer County Teenager To Be Re-Sentenced In Death Of Elderly Woman

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012 at 7:22 am

A teenager sentenced to 25 years in prison in the death of an elderly woman in Sawyer County will be re-sentenced by a different judge.

Prosecutors say the new sentence should be handed down to Austin Davis, 18, by April, though a new judge still needs to be appointed. Court documents show the defense argued Davis is entitled to a new sentence based on his plea agreement.

The exact date of the sentencing hasn’t been set.

Davis was charged as an adult and pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional homicide as party to a crime in the death of Irena Roszak, 93, in Radisson in May of 2009. He was 15 at the time.
