Pine City Wins Great River Conference Speech Competition

On Monday, March 19, seven schools competed in the Great River Conference Speech competition in Onamia. The Pine City speech team placed first for fourth consecutive year. Pine City won by a 18 points.

Second place honors went to Ogilive and third place to Rush City.

Pine City has six conference champions, behind them was Ogilvie with
four. Hinckley-Finlayson had two conference champs and Mille Lacs and Rush City each finished with one.

    It’s wonderful to know that the Pine City speech tradition carries on. Being involved in speech was one of the single-most beneficial activities I was involved in to build lifelong skills (and friendships) that pay dividends later. Congrats!

    Congrats to these talented kids. They might not get as much press coverage as area athletic teams, but these Pine City kids are extremely talented and learning some of the most valuable and beneficial life skills possible. Go Dragon Speech!
