Franken Expresses Importance Of Rural Post Offices

In his conference call on the importance of rural post offices, Sen. Al Franken made the case that communities without reliable, fast postal service would have a harder time attracting businesses because so many rural businesses rely on shipping.

The U.S. Postal Service has proposed closing 117 Minnesota post offices as well as mail–processing facilities in Duluth, Bemidji, Mankato, Rochester, and Waite Park.
