Wrong Way Driver Causes Head-On Collision

A Minnesota man was injured early Saturday morning after a car going the wrong way crashed into his car.

The crash happened just after 2am Saturday on I-94 in St. Croix County.

According to St. Croix Deputies, they tried to stop a vehicle going the wrong way near Hammond, but the driver refused to pull over. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Keith Schumacher from Baldwin, Wis., crashed into another vehicle head on. The other car was driven by 41-year-old John McManus from Bloomington.

McManus suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Schumacher was taken into custody and charged with fleeing police and eluding causing bodily harm, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, reckless driving, endangering safety and driving without a valid license.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said the accident is still under investigation.
