Last year North Metro TV in Blaine began filming two local hockey families from rival schools, the Brodzinski family from Blaine and the Hughes family from Centennial. The end result is a short documentary that takes an inside look of what it is to be a hockey family in Minnesota.

“This film is a small window into the world of Minnesota Hockey culture,” said Damian Kussian, the films director and president of YPM. “The film appeals to any documentary fan, but will have a special significance to fans of hockey in Minnesota.”

The goal of this premiere is to give the community an opportunity to see a movie that holds a mirror to a very passionate local sub-culture. The cost to attend is only $5.00 and all proceeds will benefit youth sports programs. The beneficiaries are the Blaine Youth Hockey Association and the Centennial Youth Hockey Association.

Kussian hopes that this event will bring a significant level of awareness about youth sports and how support is absolutely necessary.

“It was great getting to know these families as we worked on this documentary, the level of love and support they have for each other is extraordinary,” Kussian said.

“Eat, Sleep, Hockey” was produced by North Metro TV and directed by Upper Midwest Emmy® award winning producer Damian Kussian. and runs thirty-five minutes long.

Doors open at 5:30 pm on Feb. 29th with photo opportunities available with film cast and crew along with community, business and political leaders. The movie premiere will begin promptly at 6:30 pm and tickets will be available for purchase at Andover Cinema all day on February 29th. For more information visit www.metronorthchamber.org.
