Man Arrested For Scheming Businesses Out Of Money

A man was arrested on Thursday for fraud after he approached businesses and asked if they’d sponsor a children’s cancer walk/run.

According to the Altoona Police Department, 41-year-old Sean Kean Davis was arrested for multiple violations of theft by fraud. Authorities say Davis would go to businesses and request that they sponsor a children’s cancer walk/run. He would use the name of a legitimate charitable organization without their knowledge and keep the money for himself.

After an investigation, the department found that multiple businesses were victims of this fraud scheme in Altoona and in Eau Claire.

Authorities are also still looking for any other businesses that might have been victimized by Davis.

Davis is currently being held in the Eau Claire County Jail.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency. Altoona victims should contact Investigator Scott Kelley at (715) 839-6090.
