Nationally Televised Border Battle Tonight On ESPN: Badgers @ Gophers

Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 6:14 am

A border battle is happening tonight on the NCAA hardwood: The Wisconsin Badgers will be in Minnesota to play the Gophers at Williams arena. For a change, Wisconsin is playing better on the road in the Big Ten than it is at home this season they’ve already lost four times at the Kohl Center matching its total from the previous three seasons combined. It may be good for the Badgers that this game is on the road, however, The Badgers have also lost three straight at Minnesota.

A win tonight for Minnesota really helps their chances at making the March Madness tournament next. The Gophers have been tough to figure out this season as they’ve had huge upset victories and agonizingly deflating losses.

Though the Badgers are giving up a paltry 54.0 points on 36. percent shooting on the road in the Big Ten, coach Bo Ryan knows his team needs to play better at Minnesota than it has in the past. Wisconsin has shot 31 percent and failed to score more than 52 points going 0-2 in its last two trips to Williams Arena.

The game will be seen on ESPN locally at 6pm.
