Attempted Armed Robbery In Pine City

At approximately 10:00 am on Monday, Feb. 65, an attempted armed robbery of a residence occurred near the 500 block of 5th Ave. South in Pine City. The Pine County Sheriff’s Office reports that the suspects are two males, 19-25 years of age, armed with handguns. No one was injured during the incident.

The initial investigation revealed that the two armed suspects confronted the residents of the house demanding money. One of the suspects was wearing a ski mask. A third party nearby witnessed the suspects go into the victims’ home and yelled they were calling 911. The suspects then fled the scene.

Pine County Deputies arrived within minutes conducting a search of the area and possible escape routes. Investigators began gathering suspect information from several witnesses at the scene. It is believed the suspects had an unknown vehicle hidden nearby. It is unknown at this time why the victims were targeted by the suspects. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
