Wisconsin’s Rep. Duffy Gets Bill Through US House
The House of Representatives has passed a local congressman’s bill.
U.S. Representative Sean Duffy from district 7 has introduced a bill that would extend the pay freeze for federal employees. The pay freeze was initially passed during the last session, and would have lasted for 2 years. Duffy’s bill would extend the freeze another year. Duffy says his bill would also apply to members of congress, where the first freeze didn’t. Duffy told WEAU he wants federal workers to help shoulder the same burden as tax payers.
President Obama opposes the move. He proposed a .5% raise for federal civilian employees.
