Duluth Police Investigating Bizarre Death
The Duluth Police Department says a man found dead in an elevator last week was with his wife, but she is saying she doesn’t know how he was injured.
Edward Olson, 62, was found dead in an elevator in a building on West Michigan Street last week. Authorities confirm that Olson had been dead for some time when they arrived. Olson’s wife was with the body. The couple had worked overnight as cleaners. Apparently a day shift custodian found them in an elevator and called his supervisor, who called 911.
A medical examiner’s report released Wednesday said Olson’s blood alcohol content was 0.176. The report states that he died as a result of complications from a fractured neck, which may have been caused by a fall. The manner of death is listed as “undetermined.”
Police say Olson’s wife told them repeatedly she doesn’t know how he was injured.
Authorities say they haven’t found a chargeable crime, but are still investigating. They are not actively seeking suspects.
