Dunn County Reports Hunters Fire Stray Shot Through Occupied Home

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at 6:53 am

A bullet hit a house with people inside this weekend, and deputies have tracked down a hunting group they say is responsible for the stray shot.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office says a round from a rifle went through the walls of a home near Menomonie. He says a group of seven coyote and fox hunters were out on Saturday when a stray shot went through the home.

No one was hurt, but the people inside were able to see the hunting party and called deputies who took statements from the hunters. Smith says no one was ticketed or arrested, and thankfully nobody was injured.
