Recall Petition Examination To Be Viewable Via Webcam
State workers processing the petition signatures to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker have an Internet audience.
The Government Accountability Board is live streaming the review process via a webcam. A single camera is focused on employees reviewing and scanning documents.
A GAB spokesman says it’s the first time the board has set up a webcam, which was donated by a local technology company. Nobody knows how much interest the live feed will generate over the long term. Initially, employees will work two shifts to handle the volume of signatures.
Petition circulators delivered more than 1 million signatures Tuesday to try force a recall election for Walker. They also filed recall signatures for Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four Republican senators.
