GAB Expecting Process Of Evaluating Recall Petitions To Take Time

Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at 8:17 am

The Wisconsin state board charged with reviewing signatures to recall Gov. Scott Walker from office plans to discuss how it will proceed on counting recall petitions. A recent court order will now require the Government Accountability Board to analyze the signatures on the petitions more carefully than the board was originally planning to do.

The GAB has already said it will ask the judge for at least 60 additional days to review the petitions seeking a recall of Gov. Walker. The law only gives 31 days for the review.

The board says the process will take much longer to go over the signatures to delete duplicates and obviously fake names like Mickey Mouse.

The board planned to discuss its options at a meeting today.
