Three People Hurt In Lindstrom School Bus Crash

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012 at 8:18 am

One child and two adults were hurt after a Ford Explorer collided with a school bus in Lindstrom on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chisago County Sheriff office says the accident happened just after 4 p.m.at Morgan and Nathan Avenues. Apparently the Explorer, driven by a 71-year-old Lindstrom man, crossed over into a ditch and went airborne. Officials say the Explorer hit a school bus which was stopped at a nearby stop sign just above the bi-fold door.

Officials say 37 students were on the bus at the time. One of them, an 8-year-old boy, received minor injuries but was released to his mother.

The drivers of both the bus and the Explorer were transported to The Fairview Lakes Regional Medical Center in Wyoming with non-life threatening injuries.
