Minnesota Republicans Pick New Senate Majority Leader

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 at 7:09 am

After eleven hours of debate, The Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus has elected Sen. David Senjem of Rochester to act as the new Senate Majority Leader.

Last week senator Amy Koch admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with a senate staffer. She’s not seeking re-election.

In a news release, Gov. Mark Dayton announced that he had personally placed a call to Sen. Senjem, congratulating him on the new position and saying he “look(s) forward to a constructive working relationship with him on behalf of the people of Minnesota.”
