Chippewa County Homeowner Fires Warning Shot; Three Masked Men Flee
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department reports that a homeowner was forced to fire shots to prevent a group of masked men from breaking into his home on Tuesday night in Holcombe.
Harvey C. Birch, 46, of Holcombe stated to the Sheriff’s Department that three masked males tried to enter his home around 7 p.m. through a patio door on the deck. Glass had been broken as the trio attempted to break in.
WEAU reports the three males were armed with a shotgun, a crowbar, and a hammer. Birch then fired a warning shot from a small caliber rifle that scared the group away.
There were no injuries reported in the incident. The investigation will continue, as additional interviews will be conducted . If you have information you’re asked to call the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department.
