Our Minnesota winter sports season got underway as the Mora Mustangs hosted their second girls basketball game of the season. Mora had the tough task of taking on Becca Dahlman and the Reigning class 2 A champion Braham Bombers. The Bombers jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and didn’t look back, winning 65-45. The Mustangs fall to 0-2 and the Bombers improve to 2-0. The Bombers next game will be on Saturday afternoon when they take on #1(1A) Maranatha Christian.

Coach Chad Elston says his Mustangs have six girls capable of starting at the beginning of the year. The team has some experience in seniors Emma Johnson, Paige Thielen, Kirsten Pollema, and Paige Antonson as some solid juniors in the athletic Noelle Elvehjem and Emily Leeb, who’s been on varsity since 8th grade.

The Bombers return this season with star junior Becca Dahlman and seniors Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow, Becca Cuda, and Austyn Eng. The Bombers also have a solid supporting cast and they are hoping for a repeat of last years success.

Bombers coach Tim Malone joined Jesse Logan after the game:
