Ashland Woman Arrested After Chase, Lit Self On Fire
Charges are being recommended against a woman who allegedly led Ashland police on a chase, then lit herself on fire last week.
Ashland police say she faces several charges, though police would not say what those charges are.
The recommendation stems from an incident that police said happened last Tuesday.
WDIO reports that last Tuesday a 22-year-old woman, that authorities say was suicidal, led police on a 90 minute chase through the city.
Police said the woman drove through stop signs, and hit a house, tree and a squad car. When police stopped the car, they say the woman lit herself on fire. According to police, the woman is still recovering in the hospital, but is in protective custody.
It is now up to the District Attorney as to whether charges are filed.
