Governor’s Tree Comes From Chengwatana This Year

Friday, November 18th, 2011 at 7:10 am

This year, the tree that will be displayed at the Governor’s Residence in St. Paul has a local tie. KARE 11 reports that a crew of workers from the Minnesota DNR has cut down a 50-foot balsam fir in the Chengwatana State Forest that will serve nicely this holiday season.

Members of Conservation Corps Minnesota assisted with the cutting and loading of the tree on Thursday.

The tree will be set up at the governor’s official residence on Summit Avenue on Monday morning.

This is becoming a tradition, having the official holiday tree at the Gov.’s residence come from the Pine City area. It’s great branding for the city.
