Braham School Board Final Seat To Be Decided By Coin Toss?
Incumbent Anthony Cuda was the top vote-getter in the Braham Area School Board election held Tuesday, Nov. 8.
A total of 158 ballots were cast in the election, and vote totals were as follows:
Anthony Cuda, 140; Zane Braund, 109; Angie Flowers, 92; Robert Hughes, 64; Daniel Klemz, 64; Brian Ramthun, 45; and miscellaneous write-ins, 18.
Four open seats were up for grabs in the election.
Cuda, of Braham, Ramthun, of Grasston, Hughes, of Stanchfield and Flowers, of Braham, were on the official ballot.
Cuda, Braund, and Flowers will be sworn onto the Braham Area School Board in January 2012.
Due to the tie between Hughes and incumbent Klemz, each with 64 votes, the Isanti County News reports a coin toss will determine the winner, unless one of them declines the position, during a special school board meeting Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 7 a.m., when the election results will be canvassed.
The four-year terms of four school board members — Lowell Luebeck, Daniel Klemz, Craig Hammond and Anthony Cuda — will expire in January.
