Wells Fargo Customers Being Targeted In Scam

Wells Fargo customers are being warned not to fall for the latest scam aimed at getting their bank account numbers.

Apparently, scammers are sending out a text message to people who bank at Wells Fargo notifying them their accounts have been deactivated.

The text asks recipients to call a number, and then when they do, scammers try to get them to “verify” their account number.

The Better Business Bureau first warned of the scam on its Facebook page and says the scammers are also after personal identification numbers.

The Bureau says banks do not ask for personal information via text message or email. If you have questions call your bank directly.
