Minnesota is faring better than the national average when it comes to certain economic indicators, including unemployment.

New statistics from the state show falling unemployment rates in every city and county in northeastern Minnesota.

Duluth continues to have the lowest rate of unemployment among such cities at 6.6 percent, while Cook County has the lowest rate in the region overall at 4.5 percent.

Although some sectors have seen declines, experts believe those are due to normal seasonal changes in the workforce. Overall, the rates are mostly lower than they were one year ago.
