Accident On I-35 Near Pine City Leaves One Dead
As we first reported on Tuesday night during the pregame on 1350AM, a terrible accident occurred on I-35 just south of Pine City. At least one person is dead after the three-vehicle crash in Pine County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities responded to a report of crash involving multiple vehicles at 5:39 p.m. near mile marker 167 in Pine County. When authorities arrived, they learned that a 1999 Cadillac Seville, 1999 Chevy Silverado and 2001 Toyota Corolla had all been involved in the crash.
Authorities said the Cadillac Seville was traveling northbound and rear-ended the Toyota Corolla, causing the Seville to lose control and enter the southbound lane where it was broad-sided by the Chevy Silverado.
The driver of the Cadillac Seville was killed, while a 67-year-old Forest Lake man driving the Silverado suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Pine County Sheriff’s Office.
We will have more on this story when Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole comes in tomorrow morning for the Sheriff’s report.
