Two Teens Arrested Near Duluth For Vehicle Theft

Officers arrested two teenagers they suspected in a vehicle theft after a three-hour search of woods near Lake Superior.

WDIO reports that it began at 1:07 on Tuesday afternoon when an officer responded to a report of two males trying to get a truck out of the ditch on Moccasin Mike Road. The two males fled into the woods when the officer arrived, and police discovered the truck had been stolen in Duluth.

Officers from the Superior Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and U.S. Border Patrol conducted a ground search for the suspects. The boys were caught at 4:30 p.m., about ten minutes after they were seen running across Moccasin Mike Road.

WDIO reports that the suspects are a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Duluth. They face several possible charges, including a possible felony.
