Updating a story we’ve been following for some time now, the former clerk for the town of Webb Lake,  was found guilty last Thursday, of theft in a business setting under $2,500, a class A misdemeanor. Linda Frost, a  57-year old woman from Superior, worked as the town clerk from 1991 to 2007. Three other charges including two felony charges for misconduct in office/excessive authority, and one misdemeanor for resisting or obstructing an officer were dismissed through a motion by the prosecuting attorney.

Frost was order to pay court costs of more than  $1,750 and she paid $4,000 in restitution following her court appearance. Frost will be on probation for one year, and is allowed no contact with the Webb Lake Town Board unless that contact is approved by probation and the town board. She was also ordered to read a letter of apology to the town board, if that is approved by probation and the town board.

Frost is also to obtain a counseling evaluation and follow through with any recommendations that came from that process.
