Boundary Waters Forest Fire Update

Good news now about the Pagami Creek Forest Fire in the Boundary Waters; officials are saying the fire is now 45 percent contained.

As expected, fire activity increased slightly over the weekend because of higher temperatures and lower humidities.

But the now nearly 900 people fighting the fire were able to make some ground.

Spot fires were expected today as well. Lighting started the fire about 14 miles northeast of Ely on August 18th,
