Feds To Give $2 Million For Mining In NE Minnesota
Northeastern Minnesota’s mining industry is receiving more than $2 million in federal money after winning a piece of a jobs challenge.
The Obama Administration said Thursday that northeast Minnesota was one of 20 areas in the country to win the Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge.
Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) Commissioner Tony Sertich told WDIO in Duluth that the money will be used for education, planning and brownfield clearing.
It will be distributed through a public-private partnership.
