A new report says Wisconsin high school graduates scored well above the national average on the SAT college admissions test.

The state Department of Public Instruction released the scores Wednesday. The department also acknowledged that only about 5 percent of 2011 graduates took the SAT, while 71 percent took the ACT.

Still, the SAT scores for math, writing and critical reading in Wisconsin were each at least 86 points higher than the national average.
